About Pet Blogs United

Pet Blogs United aims to support our fellow pet bloggers by encouraging members to visit other members and leave comments. It’s a great way to find great blogs & new friends.

Pet bloggers are some of the kindest people we’ve come across, so we know that with your help, this site will become a great place for everyone.
We will have a featured blogger every week once we get going and that person will hopefully be showered with comments from our members.

To be a PBU featured blogger, first become a follower through Google Friend Connect (juct click the follow button you always see). Then just send an e-mail to Pet Blogs United. We'll contact you, have you pick some of your favorite posts and feature you when your turn comes up on the list. Pet Blogs United will only feature blogs about, by or for pets & animals.

Foster Friday - Sophia

Got love? Then Sophia is the ladycat for you!  This super snuggly senior was a bit overwhelmed when she first arrived at PAWS, which we can certainly understand.  How sad that at 12+ years old, she suddenly found herself without a home, and in the midst of so many unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells.  We imagine that's why she was withdrawn and depressed for so long.  While she did enjoy being pet, she seemed to prefer the comfort of her cage -- even when it was her turn for "out" time.  About three weeks ago (just to see what would happen), I decided to try to hold her in my arms.  Boy, am I glad I did!  It turns out that Sophia LOVES being held.  She purrs extra loud, and burrows her head between my neck and shoulder.  And spending regular time with her with each visit has made all the difference in her demeanor.  She now recognizes my voice, comes to the front of the cage to be let out when I enter the room, and enjoys being out of her cage. And if a shoulder isn't available, this lovebug is also pretty happy in a nice warm lap. :)

Sophia is spayed, and up to date on all her vaccinations.  She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  She does have hyperthyroidism, but is regulated and quite good about taking her medication (especially when it is wrapped in a salmon treat). :)  Sophia would do well in a quiet home with someone who is willing to give -- and get -- lots of loving snuggles.  She would do best as an only pet. Won't you give this sweet gal the forever home she deserves?

Sophia is available for adoption at PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society) of Norwalk, CT.  If you or anyone you know would be interested in adopting her, and live within a reasonable driving distance of Norwalk, CT, visit http://www.pawsct.org/, where you'll find the online adoption form, shelter hours, directions and contact information.

If you have a foster or shelter animal that you'd like to have featured on Pet Blogs United, please contact us at PBU at comcast dot net.

Thank you so much for posting about our sweet pal Sophia, Pam and Oskar. She is such a loving and lovable cat, and she has continued to come out of her shell since I wrote the post above. She so deserves a great forever home. Please, everyone, share the news and purr and pray for this amazing cat to be adopted. :)
