About Pet Blogs United

Pet Blogs United aims to support our fellow pet bloggers by encouraging members to visit other members and leave comments. It’s a great way to find great blogs & new friends.

Pet bloggers are some of the kindest people we’ve come across, so we know that with your help, this site will become a great place for everyone.
We will have a featured blogger every week once we get going and that person will hopefully be showered with comments from our members.

To be a PBU featured blogger, first become a follower through Google Friend Connect (juct click the follow button you always see). Then just send an e-mail to Pet Blogs United. We'll contact you, have you pick some of your favorite posts and feature you when your turn comes up on the list. Pet Blogs United will only feature blogs about, by or for pets & animals.

Anyone Tweeting Out There?

My name is Pam & I am not a Twitterer.

Being behind the times as much as I am, I'm just now starting to learn more about Twitter & the ways Twitter can help deliver and send out great information.
If I had thumbs I'm sure I could do it!
But for me, the Twitterverse is a bigger, more unknown version of the blogosphere!  Baby steps, that's what I need to do, take baby steps, lol.

Is there anyone reading this that feels like I do right now or am I alone in this boat?  And which of you are chuckling, having mastered Twitter when it came out eons ago?

How about if anyone who tweets leaves us a comment with your Twitter handle & let us newer tweeters get the hang of it by watching you veterans.

You can always follow us @PetBlogsUnited.  We'd love to follow you back!

Mom doesn't Tweet or FB and that leaves her out of the loop with some of her Blogging friends. She was laughing as she was setting up a giveaway for her craft blog because the tool she's using is of course geared to Twitter and FB and she ended up focusing on the old fashioned posting comments as a means to enter.

You can bring Mom to the tools, but it doesn't mean she will use them.

My dog Oliver got a Twitter account (@waterbowltales) a few months ago. At first he (I) thought it was stupid and didn't see the point. But now we love it. We have friends! We have 1,517 followers and a few dogs (and people) we chat with frequently and we would never have found these lovely people and dogs without Twitter.

I (Oliver's loving servant) got my own Twitter account a week or two ago and am not having as much fun. That's likely because I only have 24 followers.

What I learned was that by following LOTS of people to begin with Oliver got a lot of followers. Then by frequently tweeting, and conscientious replies to mentions and messages, Oliver was further able to grow his followers numbers. I've not done that with my own account because there's a 2,000 follow limit and I've had to cull Oliver's follow list several times in order to follow back the people who signed on to follow me. I think this just means that it's going to take me (@kathibaughman) longer to get more followers than it did Oliver.

If anyone wants to follow either of us we'd love it! We always follow back.

Good luck with Twitter Pam! Hopefully you'll like it as much as Oliver does. It takes some getting used to but now it's a constant time suck for me, which I don't regret at all. ;-)

I tweet. My name is @Mariodact, and I'm always willing to help newcommers. It's fun too cuz you get to build up relationships with other tweeters (anipals only) and build a wonderful bond. It's a lot llike the blogosphere in that respect. Animal humans are the bestest - they really care about what happens to you. If you are interested, you can also contact me on my blog http://mariodacat.blogspot.com/ and leave a comment. M reads her emails at least once a day - and some times several times a day. The best way to start is to set up your account. M is old (really old) and knew nothing when I started 3 years ago.

Yep I Tweet. I mostly Tweet other people's blogs. I am the Queen of promoting other people's blogs on Twitter lol.

I do participate in the Friday Follows...

I rarely sit there "live" tweeting with others. I used to when I first started tweeting but now it is hard because it takes up so much time. I prefer just posting things of interest on Twitter.

I am already following you under @catchatcaren and I also have a handle for Dakota now, @dakotasheltie

My mum is totally resistant to joining Facebooks and certainly has no interest in tweeting. She says she doesn't want to read about hollywood stars going to the hairstylist or buying a coffee!! BOL! She also says she put enough time into managing my blog, and doesn't want to lose more of HER time managing other forms of my communication (or hers for that matter). heck - she doesn't even like using the telephone, and groans if her mobile rings!! It's impossible to get good help!!

So Pam - my mum says RESIST - and spend more time with Oskar!! ;-)

Tail Wuggles, Rubie.

I am just learning to twitter. It is interesting. I am not a facebook user, but as I work with people with developmental disabilities I am always looking for ways that technology may help them. Really, it gives me an excuse to play with more dog related stuff in the name of helping others! So far I have had some fun!

Oh you must come and join us!! :)) I felt quite daunted at first, like I was new to the party and was very polite...I think I still am, but I've made so many new friends and I find it quite addictive! Also there is so much news to be shared and I like that - anyway, welcome to the twitter party from @blanketID

My Mums have Facebook accounts but only so they can put up pictures of me and our K9 family for friends and family to see. I like blogging about my doggie adventures and might like tweeting but my Mums say there's no time for more social networking right now :-( love from Magic xx
