Every year, as temperatures climb and people spend more time outside, kitten season arrives. Shelter workers and volunteers both anticipate and dread this time of year. It means the arrival of an abundance of cuteness in the form of tiny kittens, but it also means heartbreak as sometimes there is not enough shelter space or foster homes for them.
I really encourage those who have been thinking of fostering to do it now. It's true that kittens are high maintenance and require more time and attention, but if you can foster adult cats that will free up other homes to raise these kittens until they're ready to be adopted. And if you've been thinking of adopting a kitten or cat, this is the best time to do so!
The quicker kittens are adopted the more space there is for new ones that come daily, and also the more chance an adult cat has to find their forever home, as adopters who come in wanting a senior cat get distracted and end up going home with kittens. And how can anyone resist these faces?

OMC - those kittens are adorable. If mom were 20 years younger, she'd foster kittens.

Oh how cute! Our three cats are rescues and I miss those kitten days
These babies are so sweet. Makes me want a kitten. (a kitten for me to chase!)
So cute. And such a great and informative post!
Always need more foster homes for the little ones, whether kitten or adult. Just wish I could do more, but we've all we can handle with the 6 Mouskateers.
I, personally, just love the looks on the tiny ones' faces. Those blue eyes really get me going. Great pictures today, as always.
So irresistible and cute!
Adoption is win and good. My hooman says she can't wait to adopt a cat, and she will make sure it is nootered. :)
