About Pet Blogs United

Pet Blogs United aims to support our fellow pet bloggers by encouraging members to visit other members and leave comments. It’s a great way to find great blogs & new friends.

Pet bloggers are some of the kindest people we’ve come across, so we know that with your help, this site will become a great place for everyone.
We will have a featured blogger every week once we get going and that person will hopefully be showered with comments from our members.

To be a PBU featured blogger, first become a follower through Google Friend Connect (juct click the follow button you always see). Then just send an e-mail to Pet Blogs United. We'll contact you, have you pick some of your favorite posts and feature you when your turn comes up on the list. Pet Blogs United will only feature blogs about, by or for pets & animals.

House of Carnivores ~ Weekly Featured Blogger

This week we get to talke to Melanie from House of Carnivores. Here's what she has to say:
A little bit about my blog: I started this shortly after we adopted Argos, our greyhound. At that time, we already had three cats, and have since gotten a fourth cat. The cats' names are Charlotte, Annie, Q-bit, and Romeo. To put it lightly, life can be somewhat interesting, and "interactions" between the animals are a constant source of amusement, concern, and bewilderment on my blog. It started out as just an accounting of daily life, but as I stated earlier, started to morph into what I hope will become a helpful guide to anyone considering adopting a pet. With the occasional rant thrown in there, when I find stories of animal abuse in the news.
My blog started out as just a description of my daily life with all of our animals, but has started to morph into something else as well: something that I can use to help encourage people to adopt. It will probably progress as a hybrid for awhile, maybe eventually splitting into two if it starts to get too ungainly. So, here are links to three of my favorite posts:
"Adopting an Adult Cat". Since most of our cats were adopted as adults, and I know that it's harder to adopt them out than kittens, I wanted to reassure others that it is possible to adopt one and still have it become a loving, happy pet.
"Animal Nicknames." A silly, light-hearted post, with a list of the tons of nicknames that we have started to call our animals.
"Walking in the Park." Argos' first trip to the local off-leash dog park, and cats napping all over the house. How could life possibly be better?

Please stop over to House of Carnivores and show them some PBU comment love!  If you would like to be featured, please send an e-mail to PBU at comcast dot net.

It's nice to see a blogger I enjoy following getting featured here.

Melanie also supports the adoption of retired racing greyhounds.
